James Owen Shealy, Jr.

James Owen Shealy, Jr., of Stone Mountain, died Friday, May 11, 2007 at the age of 52.  He was a native of Avondale Estates, attended Georgia Southern University, where he was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity, and a graduate of Georgia State University. He was an executive in the casualty insurance industry.  Mr. Shealy was a member of The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, and a past member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Lilburn, where he served as Church Council President.  He worked for the Mountain Park-Parkview community in many ways including his great involvement with the Gwinnett Soccer Association, where he was President of the Association.  He is survived by his mother, Gerrill Kohn Shealy; daughters, Emily Luanne and Abigail Elizabeth; his sister, Peggy Shealy Forsberg; nieces and nephews; great nephews; aunt, Marilyn Kohn Shaver; and many cousins.  Services will be held at 11:00 A. M. Wednesday, May 16th at The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer with interment at Decatur Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
