James Thomas Smith

Mr. James Thomas Smith, age 80, of Decatur died at home Tuesday morning, October 11, 2005. He was a life long Atlanta area resident. Mr. Smith was a combat Veteran of World War II serving in Italy. He attended the Assembly of God, Decatur and retired as a professional truck driver. He is survived by his daughter, Sandra Kyle Bain and husband Jackson of Alexandria, VA; son, Michael Smith and wife Janet of Acworth, GA; sister, Nellie Rousey of Covington, GA; grandchildren, Jennifer Herd of Reston, VA, Samantha Schoop of Richmond, VA, Matthew Smith of Acworth, GA; numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and special friend, Charlene Ferguson. A memorial service will be held Friday, October 21st at A. S. Turner & Sons. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, College Park. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
