Jane Corine Blackstock

Jane Few Blackstock, 84, of Decatur, GA, passed away peacefully at home on December 22, 2022.

She was born to the late Albert and Vienna Few in Atlanta, GA, on March 4,1938. Jane graduated from Decatur High School and received an Undergraduate Degree from the University of Georgia and also earned a Master’s Degree in Education, from Georgia State University.

In addition to being a loving and devoted wife and mother, she was a lifelong educator, and worked as a elementary teacher for over 35 years with Dekalb County Schools. Jane was passionate about helping her students learn and enjoyed when former students would visit her at school and share their academic and personal successes after they had graduated.

After retiring from teaching, she enjoyed playing bridge with her church group and keeping up with her grandchildren.

Jane is survived by her husband of 63 years, Thad Blackstock, Jr., her two sons and their spouses, Thad Blackstock, III and his wife Susan and Dr. Steve Blackstock and his wife Karen. She is also survived by six grandchildren.

A grave side service for family will be held on December 28, 2022 at Decatur Cemetery.
