Jean Turner Elliott

Mrs. Jean Turner Elliot, 89, of Atlanta passed away Saturday, May 3, 2008. Mrs. Elliott was born March 10, 1919 in Atlanta, GA, the daughter of the late Albert E. and Winifred H. Turner of Atlanta. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Dick D. Elliott. Mrs. Elliott was a graduate of Atlanta Girls High School of 1937. She was a charter member of North Decatur Methodist Church and the director of the preschool there. Over the years, Mrs. Elliott was an active volunteer in many organizations. She was also an active member of the Heaton Park Garden Club, the Rhododendron Club and the Atlanta Girl's High Alumnae Group. She will be most remembered as a loyal wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She is survived by her son, Dick D. Elliott, Jr. (Marilyn) of Germantown, TN; daughter, Bettye E. Manning of Decatur; grandchildren, Debbie Elliott-Taylor (Steve), Jeff Elliott (Evelyn), Mary Susan Wheeler (John), Sally Lacy (Tom) and Molly Harper (Graham). She is also survived by three great grandchildren and loyal friend, Julia Swanson. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons with Rev. Rex Kaney officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the United Methodist Childrens's Home, 500 Columbia Dr., Decatur, GA 30030. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. Monday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
