Jeanine Cummings Arledge grew up in Atlanta with her two brothers and attended Bass High School, where she was a member of the drill team and participated in other school activities. Along the way she had a blind date with a young man named Charlie Arledge... and the blind date worked. They were married for 62 years, until his death a year and a half ago. Together they loved to laugh and enjoyed many happy times together.
Jeanine worked first for the Southern Bell Telephone Company, but then had a long, successful career with the Georgia Power Company. She rose to become an Executive Secretary and was respected in the workplace by everyone who knew her, regardless of their rank in the company. Her legion of friends grew over the years and upon retirement, she and Charlie enjoyed being active in the company's service organization, the Georgia Power Ambassadors. They were not content to be "members" of Ambassadors - they served in leadership roles and kept busy helping others.
Jeanine is survived by her brother, J. D. Cummings and his family, and her brother-in-law, Guy Arledge and his family. She will be sorely missed, but not forgotten.
