Mrs. Jennifer Anna (Martin) Michaels, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away after a 15 year battle with metastatic thyroid cancer on July 12, 2023, in Atlanta, Georgia. She was born on May 8, 1961, in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Conrad Leo and Janet (Mauzy) Martin.
Jennifer had a lifelong love of learning. She developed her talent as an accomplished musician, playing the French horn and earning a Bachelor's in Music from University of Akron. She then earned her Master's Degree in Library Science at Kent State University, and went on to work at the Centers for Disease Control and Emory University in clinical research.
She will be remembered not only for her accomplishments but more importantly, for the person she was. Her loving nature touched the lives of everyone she met. She had a welcoming presence and always demonstrated generous hospitality. She enjoyed cooking for her family and community, and her recipes will be cherished.
Jennifer is survived by her husband Christopher, her children Mary (Taylor), John, and Michael, her mother Janet Martin, and her sisters Judy Ruiz and Kathy Siers.
Services for Jennifer will be held on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation (2500 Clairmont Rd, Atlanta, GA 30329). Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with funeral services following immediately after at 11:00 AM. Committal will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
