Joan Bond Housworth

Norma Joan (Bond) Housworth , age 90, of Decatur Georgia passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2026. Joan was born in Atlanta, Georgia to Helen and Ralph Bond. She graduated from O'Keefe High School and worked at L. B. Price after graduating. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Earl. She and Earl met at her aunt and uncle's drug store when Earl was a student at Georgia Tech. They had four children together, the first two born while Earl was a student. Joan is survived by her children, Barry (Ahida), Bonnie (Dave) Mark, and Laura (Tony). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Toria (Reuben), Kevin, Scott, Georgia, Charlie, and Tony, as well as several nieces and nephews. Joan will be remembered for her sweet, calm spirit.

A gathering of family and friends will be Friday, August 21, 2026 beginning at 1:00 PM at A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home & Crematory, 2733 N. Decatur Rd. Decatur GA 30033. A funeral service will be Friday, August 21,2026 at A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home & Crematory, 2773 N. Decatur Road, Decatur GA 30033. Interment will be held in Kelly Chapel Cemetery, 3410 Kelly Chapel Rd. Decatur, GA 30034.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Joan's memory to The American Cancer Society or The Humane Society of Atlanta.
