Joan Loomis Holub

Joan Holub passed away on Tuesday February 16, 2016 at the age of 84. This announcement is bittersweet. Joan's children, Karen, Cynthia, Douglas, son-in-law, Jerry, and granddaughter, Kecia miss her very much. But we take solace in knowing that she is in heaven and resting in peace.
Joan was a child of the Great Depression, and a teenager during World War II. She learned frugality, doing without, making do with what you had and the value of hard work. She was dependable, trustworthy, beautiful, and kind. She loved children, family, friends, flowers, and animals (especially dogs and horses). Joan was an excellent mother with patience and compassion.
Joan's memorial service will be held Thursday, March 3, 2016 at A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home in Decatur. The visitation will be at 2:00 pm. The service will be in the A.S. Turner Chapel at 3:00 pm followed by a reception also at Turner and Sons Funeral Home.
