JoAnn Burney

Daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She was a woman who loved-well and was well-loved. Joann Burney entered eternal rest early Friday afternoon June 5th, 2026 at the age of 67.

Her journey through life began on November 18th, 1958, one of two children, born in Tokyo, Japan. She committed her life towards being a remarkable wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend to all.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Earl Blanchard, Ayako Blanchard, brother Charlie Blanchard, brother-in-law Sammy Shead, and step-son Michael Burney. She is survived by her husband Randy Burney, sister Myra Blanchard Shead, two daughters Mindy Crowther and Meagan Burney, son-in-law Scott Crowther, step-daughter Candice Burney, 7 grandkids, 9 great grandkids, and 2 nephews.

The viewing/visitation will be held from 2-6 pm at AS Turner's, 2773 N Decatur Rd, Decatur, GA 30033.
