Joanna Elizabeth Steed

Joanna Elizabeth Steed died September 5, 2018 in Atlanta, GA at the age of 42.

She is survived by her wife and partner of 15 years, Jennifer Morton of Atlanta, GA; grandmother Betty Jo Steed of LaGrange, GA; parents Claire and Louis Steed of Greenville, SC; and brother Robert Britt Steed of Raleigh, NC. She is preceded in death by grandparents Billie and Fred Phillips; grandfather Robert Louis Steed Sr.; beloved great grandmother Elizabeth Snow Steed.

Joanna was a devoted wife and daughter, joyful companion and friend to all who knew her. She loved her family and friends immeasurably and enjoyed nothing more than being in their company. She was a musician and avid lover of the great outdoors, her goodness and light radiating through all she endeavored.

A celebration of life and sending forth will be held Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 11am. Family and friends are invited to gather at Virginia-Highland Church, 743 Virginia Avenue NE Atlanta, GA 30306 with a reception to follow.

Flowers may be sent directly to the church on the morning of the service. Donations also are welcome and may be made to the Friendship Center at Holy Comforter (http://www.friendshipcenter-atlanta.org/).
