Joe "Big Joe" Singleton of Tucker died Saturday, October 29, 2005 from complications from surgery. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Singleton was the owner of Joe Singleton Grading Company. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Brockett Ward and he loved to travel. He is survived by his wife, Mary Faye Singleton; children, Susan Fambrough, Joseph Singleton and his wife Debra; five grandchildren, Parrish Daniel, Joey Singleton, Katie Fambrough, Ricky Singleton, Hannah Fambrough Castaneda; one great grandchild, Isabelle Castaneda, all of Tucker; brother, Johnny Singleton of Dawsonville; sisters, Gertrude Gibson of Fairburn, GA, Lois Hay of Decatur, Winnie Chipps of Beaufort, SC and Lou Mize of Tucker. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 2nd at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Brockett Ward, 1947 Brockett Road. Bishop Kurt Heiss will officiate. Mr. Singleton will lie in state at the church one hour before the service. Interment will be at Melwood Cemetery. Flowers are appreciated; however you may make memorials to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Brockett Ward, c/o Humanitarian Aid Fund, 6088 Millstone Run, Stone Mountain, GA 30087. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
