Joe Michael Daniel, Sr

Joe Michael “Mike” Daniel, Sr., 74, of Atlanta, GA passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2019. Born August 20, 1944, in Birmingham, AL, he was the son of the late Joe Edwin and Gaynelle Whitaker Daniel. Mike served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Ethan Allen and graduated from Georgia State University with a law degree.

Mike is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nina Attaway Daniel; son, Joe Michael Daniel, Jr. and his wife, Karen; daughter, Joy Daniel Sims and her husband, Blake; granddaughters, Ella, Emma, Ava, and Allie Sims; grandsons, James and Joshua Daniel; brother, Ray A. Daniel; and many more loving family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Grant Park Health Center, 1340 Boulevard, SE Atlanta, GA 30315.

A celebration of Mike’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 16, at St. Bede’s Episcopal Church, 2601 Henderson Mill Road, Atlanta, GA, with Reverend Chad Vaughn officiating.
