Johan (Jo) St. Julien, aged 85, was received by her heavenly father on June 15, 2024. She was born on December 21, 1938 in New Orleans, Louisiana to George and Agnes St. Julien. Jo had a gentle strength and elegance, and she devoted herself to serving others. A service for family and friends is planned for July 15 at St. Ann Church & Shrine 3601 Transcontinental Drive, Metairie, Louisiana 70006. Receiving friends and family at 10:00 a.m. with a service to be held at 11:00 a.m.
Jo was a loving Mother to Kimberly (Wayne), Douglas (Pam), David (Tina), and Dennis (Michelle); Grandmother to eight grandchildren, and a Great Grandmother to six great grandchildren. She was like a Mother to a niece (Kay) and three nephews (Joe, Kenny, and Michael); and a loving Aunt & Great Aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. Jo and her partner, Cathy, were devoted companions for over 40 years.
Jo was a fantastic seamstress; she lovingly made baby quilts, tooth fairy pillows, and cross-stitch gifts for family and friends. Jo was a wonderful cook as well, getting quite extravagant at times. She loved her three kitties very much and her three dogs that preceded her kitties. She was an avid reader of Donna Leon mysteries. She took her daily walks faithfully, right up until her passing, in her beautiful neighborhood of Avondale Estates, Georgia.
Jo worked as a Network Administrator for the State of Georgia for 20 years. She enjoyed Jazzercise for many years and even appeared in a half time show at an Atlanta Falcons game performing a Jazzercise show.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Boys and Girls Club of America (www.bgca.org) OR Square Foot Ministries (www.squarefootministry.org) in memory of Johan St. Julien.
