John Darden Kent

John Darden Kent, 85, a longtime resident of Atlanta died Thursday, August 27, 2009.  A native Georgian he was born in Bowdon.  He served his country proudly in the U. S. Navy during WWII.  Mr. Kent retired from John Deere after 33 years of service.  He was an avid Atlanta Braves fan.  Preceded in death by his loving wife, Ellen N. Kent, surviving are his sons and daughters- in-law,  James and Francene Kent, John Alvin Kent and Jenny Kent; grandchildren, Ashley Kent, Stefanie Kent, Justin Kent; and niece, Norma Allgood.  Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 30th at 3:00PM at Briarcliff Baptist Church with the remains in state at 2:00PM.  Dr. Bill Bigger will officiate.  Interment Floral Hills Memory Gardens.  Friends are invited to visit with the family Saturday afternoon from 3:00 until 6:00PM at A.
