John H. Sawyer, Jr. of Stone Mountain died Monday, March 02, 2009. He was a native of Atlanta, retired from the U. S. Army Reserve and attended Mercer University. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy A. Sawyer of Stone Mountain; son, John (Jay) Sawyer of Stone Mountain; daughter, Laurie Swygert of Decatur; and grandchildren, Sarah Grace Swygert and D. Grant Mills both of Decatur. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Thursday, March 5, 2009 with Rev. Steve Hammack officiating. Interment will be in Georgia National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
