Jones Foster Brewer, a kind and gentle man, passed peacefully at home with family by his side.
He was the middle of three sons born to Mary and Charles Brewer.
He leaves behind Jean, his beloved wife of 73 years, two daughters: Debra Grno (Jim) and Beverly Horton (Lloyd)
along with many grand, great-grand, great great-grandchildren.
As a young boy Jones played with friends and family in the beautiful fields and woods of rural Banks County,
and those days were among some of the very happiest of his long life.
Much of his adult life was dedicated to others, beginning with his time in the US Navy during WW II and concluding with an exemplary record of volunteerism spanning many years and hours in support of the Shriners Childrens Hospital Family. For his outstanding volunteer efforts he was awarded the distinguished rank of 33rd degree Mason.
Jones learned well the lessons taught to us in The Sermon on the Mount.
Whether family, friend, customer, or stranger Jones was always there to offer help and a kind word to those in need.
Never did he take advantage of those unclear of the rules, nor did he ever callously remind his charges of their faults or missteps.
His was a positive outlook on life and he shared that philosophy with all he met in the hopes of making this world a better place.
Jones Foster Brewer held onto his generous and playful nature well into his final days
and he will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 25 at 1:00P.M. in the Chapel of A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 11:00A.M. until the time of service. A private entombment will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Duluth.
