Katherine Kilgore

Mrs. Katherine Kilgore of Decatur died peacefully on Monday, August 29, 2005 from the return of kidney cancer. Kay grew up in Atlanta and attended Druid Hills High School.  She went on to the University of Iowa where she majored in Speech and Radio. She was a wonderful mother and homemaker, a past President of the Briarpatch Garden Club, an eternal gardener, a past Director of Landscape Management in Brianwood as well as an artist of some renown.  She is survived by her loving family?her husband of 57 years, Jack Kilgore of Decatur; son, Christopher Kilgore of Baltimore, MD; daughter, Holly Wetzel; and grandson, Terrence Christopher Wetzel, both of Decatur.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 3, at 3 pm in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons.  Dr. Harold Zwald will officiate.  The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 pm Saturday, with a reception following the service, at A. S. Turner & Sons.
