Lt. Colonel Joseph Vernon Askey was promoted to Glory on January 11, 2008. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Evangeline & Robert Lynn; son, Vernon Askey; Mandi Askey; one sister; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, January 18, 2008 at the Salvation Army Temple - 2090 North Druid Hills Rd. NE - Atlanta. The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:30 in the Fireside Room at the Temple. Interment will be at Westview Cemetery. A.S. Turner and Sons - 404-292-1551
