Reverend L.H.Edmondson, III (Luke/Lucius) Age 91 of McDonough, Georgia passed away in his home on March 8, 2026, from natural causes. He was born in Decatur, Georgia on June 12, 1934.
He grew up in Decatur and was a graduate of Decatur High School where he met his wife-to-be, Ethel Gregg. He enjoyed various sports at Decatur High and was an excellent baseball player for Decatur pitching and playing first base. After attending North Georgia College in Dahlonega, Georgia he joined the Marine Corps and served two years on active duty and an additional six years in the Marine Reserves. He left the Marine Corps to become an employee of Southern Bell in Decatur where he raised a daughter and son and retired. Luke was an avid hunter and fisherman and retired to his dream country home in McDonough, Georgia where he lived with Ethel for almost fifty years

Luke grew up active in the Baptist church and had a strong personal relationship with the Lord. While working at Southern Bell he started Team Jesus Motorcross as an outlet for preaching the gospel and evangelizing on the racetrack with his son Eric who was an integral part of the team and ministry. When he retired, Reverend Luke began to reach out into other venues for ministry including prisons and jails, working both independently and with local churches. He founded Team Jesus Ministries to spread the Gospel and to encourage other believers to evangelize. Team Jesus Ministries continues this mission today under the skillful leadership of Reverend Don Coffey. Through his ministry, Reverend Edmondson became the Chaplin at the Henry County Jail and served in that position for many years.

Reverend Edmondson is survived by his loving wife of 69 years Ethel (Gregg) Edmondson, his son Eric and wife Kathryn, his daughter Donna and husband Hal Watkins. He has three grandchildren, Dawn Wallace (husband Brad), Noah Edmondson, and Hadley Schultz along with their families. His 2 great grandchildren are Shiloh and Judah Wallace.
