"Mack" Connie Honea

Connie “Mack” Honea, 72, of Senoia, GA, beloved father, brother, husband and friend, passed away peacefully at the Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center on Tuesday, January 22, 2019.

Born August 14, 1946 in Scottdale, GA, to the late Bessie and Gene Honea. Mack served 4 years in the U.S. Marine Corps with one tour in Vietnam for which he received many commendations. He was a retired employee of Delta Airlines and a Charter Coordinator to many sports teams and the military.

He was an avid golfer and participated in many charity golf tournaments where he raised money for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and the Veterans Lodge. He was awarded the annual Jackie Burkett Memorial Veterans Lodge Humanitarian Award in 2018 for his tireless support of our country’s veterans.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bessie and Gene Honea and brother, Jack Honea.

He is survived by his wife, Lynda Saunders; daughter, Melissa Storm; sister, Frankie Baldwin; cousin, Joyce Garmon, nieces and nephews, Karen and Jeff Landers, Judy and Jeff Snead, Sherry and Ricky Dudish, Leesha Jay, Marty Honea, Michael Honea, his beloved fur babies, Trixie and Phoebe and many more loving family and friends.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the Fayette County, GA Humane Society.

His funeral services will be held in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons at 2:30 pm on Saturday January 26th . Graveside services with honors will be held at 11:00 am at GA National Cemetery, Canton, GA on Tuesday January, 29th.

The family will receive friends on Thursday and Friday January 24th & 25th from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at A. S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home & Crematory.
