Marian Elsie Travis

Marian E. Travis of Decatur died Thursday, May 10, 2012. She was preceded in death by her mother, Nellie Melton Travis and her father, Lowell Terah Travis. Miss Travis received her B. S. degree from Emory University and a Masters degree from the University of Georgia. She was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority. She retired from the DeKalb County Public School System after a lengthy teaching career. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy Travis Joyner and Hugh Joyner and numerous cousins. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church with Dr. David Jones and Rev. Susan Penson officiating. Interment will be in Decatur Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Monday at A. S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
