Marie Frances (Fraher) Trujillo
Marie Frances Trujillo, 80, of Stone Mountain, began her eternal life on June 26, 2023, surrounded by family. She was born on December 7, 1942 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Brendan and Margaret Fraher. She grew up in both Philadelphia and Detroit and enjoyed her summer's with cousins in Scituate, MA. She attended Sacred Heart Academy Catholic Schools in Grosse Pointe, MI and Overbrook, PA and Dunbarton College of the Holy Cross in Washington D.C. receiving her Bachelor's Degree. Marie moved to Atlanta in 1967 and worked at Grady Memorial Hospital as a Social Worker.
Marie married Rolando F. Trujillo in 1969 and was married for 54 years. They have two daughters and six grandchildren.
Marie spent most of her career working at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Decatur, as the Director of Religious Education for 37 years. A job she dearly loved. Marie was a devout Catholic attending daily Mass and also enjoyed knitting, reading, sewing and time with her grandchildren. She was diagnosed with Parkinson and Dementia continuing to enjoy her life, in her own way, surrounded by family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Rolando F. Trujillo; two daughters, Meg (Patrick) Warner and Rebecca (Bill) Harrell; six grandchildren, Isabel, Katherine, James, Matthew, Michael and Anne Harrell; brothers, Brendan (Barbara) Fraher and Tom (Susan) Fraher; and many other family members including cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
The family will receive visitors at A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home, 2773 N Decatur Rd., Decatur, GA 30033 on Thursday, July 6th from 6-8 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held Friday, July 7th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church, 5373 Wydella Rd, Lilburn, GA. 30047. The Burial will follow at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Carrollton, GA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cancer Home, 760 Pollard Blvd SW, Atlanta, GA. 30315.
