Marilynn Furtado (known to family and friends as Lynn), 85, passed away on June 10, 2025, in Atlanta, GA at King'sBridge Retirement Community where she lived with her husband, Edwin.

Marilynn Furtado was born on December 17, 1939 in Santa Cruz, California, her parents were Nick and Mildred Bogisich.
Marilynn graduated from Watsonville High School in 1957. She started her career at Bank of America as a bank teller, bookkeeper and moved her way up to an Escrow Officer and worked at various branches for over 20 years. She started working for Bank of America out of high school and worked in Berkeley, CA where she and her husband lived and then eventually in San Jose, CA where she and Ed raised their family.

Marilynn married Edwin Furtado, whom she married on September 5, 1959 in Watsonville, CA. The couple had 3 children, Debra Furtado, of Decatur, GA, Michael Furtado, (deceased) and Kevin Furtado who lives in Georgia.

Marilynn was best known for her volunteer work with her church, All Saints Catholic Church, Dunwoody, GA. She led her Women's Circle to adopt a Meals on Wheels route where members were able to deliver meals as often as once a week. Marilynn was involved with Dunwoody Women's Club where she was awarded Woman of the Year. She was also involved with the Woodside Women's Club. She loved to travel and especially enjoyed the beach and Hilton Head Island was her happy place. She and her daughter, Debra, ran a small antique business in Aiken. SC. She loved to garden and read.

Marilynn is survived by her husband, Edwin Furtado, of Atlanta, GA; daughter, Debra Furtado, Decatur, GA; son, Kevin Furtado; granddaughter, Brittany Fuller; great-grandsons, Julian and Miles Fuller; brother, Randall Kemp; sister, Vicki Macias; daughter-in-law, Nicki Furtado; sister-in-law, Kathleen Serratto; nieces, Brodi Kotila and Kristina Serratto; nephews, Tyler Kemp, Matthew Serratto and Nick Serratto.

Marilynn is preceded in death by father, Nick Bogisich; mother, Mildred Bogisich; son, Michael Furtado; and brother, Guy Wesley Bogisich.

The Celebration of Life for Marilynn Furtado will be held in August 2025 at King'sBridge Retirement Community.
