Mrs. Frances Maughon Helms was born March 28, 1921 in Gainesville, Georgia to Elise Harrison Maughon and S. T. Maughon and passed away on Friday July 12, 2013 in Suwanee, Georgia. She was employed for thirty-eight years with the Coca-Cola Company in Atlanta, Georgia. She was a member of the Embry Hills United Methodist Church, having served over the years as president of the United Methodist Women; Chairperson of the Worship and Mission work areas; member of the Board of Trustees, the Administrative Board, the Finance Committee, the Jack Nichols Sunday School Class, and as a charter member of the Chancel Choir. Also she was a member of the Women's Chamber of Commerce of Atlanta, the Choral Guild of Atlanta, the Georgia Chapter of the Society of Consumer Affairs Professionals (serving as secretary for two years), and the Coca- Cola Grads (serving as secretary and vice president). She was actively involved with the National and Local organizations of the Coca-Cola Collectors Club, International. She is survived by her children, son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Janice Helms of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida; son and daughter-in-law, Phil and Denise Helms of Duluth, Georgia; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and David Coholich of Jefferson, Georgia; step-daughter and son-in-law, Jacqueline and Manny Castro of Fleming Island, Florida; son-in-law, Robert Todd, of Opelika, Alabama; and daughter-in-law, Mary Morrow, of Knoxville, Tennessee. In addition, she is survived by two sisters: Mrs. Susan Coombs of Atlanta, Georgia and Mrs. Ann Byrd of Dallas Georgia, by her brother: Joseph Maughon of Tampa, Florida, as well as, by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands: Ermal Victor Giles, William Jackson Helms, and Charles Warren; by her step-daughter, Janet Helms Todd; and by her step-son, William Jackson Morrow. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday July15, 2013 at Embry Hills United Methodist Church with Rev. Elaine Puckett officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Agape of Georgia. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 3:00-6:00 PM at A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
