Beloved mother, "granny" and great-grandmother Mary Louise Lund, 94, went peacefully home on Monday, January 5, 2026 at A. G. Rhodes Wesley Woods in Atlanta, Georgia. Daughter of the late Lawrence and Clara (McGlinchey) Morrison, Mary Lou was born in Akron, Ohio, on August 19, 1931.
A long-time resident of Richfield, Ohio Mary Lou was known for her remarkable luck and quiet skill, delighting friends and family with wins at card games, lottery scratch-offs, and claw machines. Just as well-known was her generous heart and deep belief in 'paying it forward.' She found her greatest joy in helping others, often choosing to do so anonymously.
Mary Lou treasured time spent with family and friends - whether on road trips and spontaneous adventures or gathering for a meal at her favorite restaurant. Her sense of humor never faltered, and her jokes never went out of style. These moments, full of laughter and connection, were where she felt most at home, and where her spirit will live on.
She leaves to honor her memory both immediate and extended family, including daughter Mary (Sara) Clements, sons Raymond and Lawrence (Carol) Romestant, granddaughters Lilly and Lauren Romestant and River Clements, grandsons Eric Romestant and Toby Clements, and sister Fran Stock, along with numerous loving nieces, nephews and "bonus" families, including former daughter-in-law Katina Z. Jones (John Yaceczko, Jr.), grandkids Madelyn, Zoe and Simon Yaceczko, and "son" Peter Moller.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Robert Morrison, sisters Edna Paparone, Janet Morgan and Janice Maglic, husband E. Howard Lund and son Louis P. Romestant III.
Her legacy lives on in the generosity she modeled, the laughter she shared, and the many lives-family and otherwise-that are better for having known her.
Mary’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis de Sales Parish in Akron, Ohio, on May 23 at 11:00 a.m., officiated by her nephew, Father Tom Stock. Family and friends are invited to gather for a luncheon in the parish hall following the Mass.
