Dr. Mary Lynn Crews (1971 - 2023)

Dr. Mary Lynn Crews, Age 52, of Atlanta, GA, passed away on Monday November 6, 2023 surrounded by her family. She was born in Morehead, KY on March 12, 1971 to Larry and Alice Crews. Dr. Crews graduated from East Hardin High School in 1989, obtained her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry in 1995, and completed her orthodontic residency at the Medical College of Virginia in 1997. Upon graduation, Dr. Crews moved to Atlanta to begin her career as a private practice orthodontic specialist. She opened her own orthodontic practice, Crews Orthodontics, in 2004 and relocated the practice to a new building in 2020. Dr. Crews gave back to the local community by treating underprivileged children and adolescents.

Mary Lynn enjoyed music and playing piano from a very young age. She met the love of her life, Chris Van Buren, in Atlanta, GA. They enjoyed traveling the world together and making special memories at home with their daughter. Mary Lynn also enjoyed photography, gourmet cooking, and reading. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her husband, Chris Van Buren, and daughter, Hadley Van Buren of Atlanta, GA; her parents, Larry and Alice Crews of Elizabethtown, KY; her sister, Larra Rose of Cincinnati, OH; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 11am at Oak Grove United Methodist Church; 1722 Oak Grove Rd, Decatur, GA 30033.
