Mercedese Louise Payne

Mercedese Louise Payne, age 81, of Atlanta died Tuesday, May 1, 2007.  She was an elementary school teacher for 13 years in Copperhill, TN and DeKalb County. Mrs. Payne was a dedicated mother to her family, a loving wife and an avid supporter in the schools her daughter attended. She was the ?Neighborhood Mother? of the Oak Grove community. She was a member of Briarcliff Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Denise Payne of Atlanta; brother, Duncan Lyle of Sacramento, CA; sister-in-law, Sarah Ellen Lanning; and nieces and nephews.  Graveside services will be held Sunday, May 6th at 3 p.m. in Crestlawn Cemetery, Copperhill, TN. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
