Nettie Norton Griffo

Nettie Norton Griffo, age 82, of Birmingham, Alabama, formerly of Avondale Estates, Georgia died January 30, 2007. She was born June 18, 1924 to James Norton and Lilly Hamlett Norton in Nottingham, Virginia. She was their 7th of 10 children. Mrs. Griffo was a graduate of Crewe High School. She was a longtime member and Sunday school teacher at Columbia Drive Baptist Church. Mrs. Griffo retired after many years of service from the Internal Revenue Service. Her husband, Christopher A. Griffo, preceded her in death; and she is survived by her son, James C. Griffo (Laura) and grandchildren, James Mark Griffo and Lisa Michelle Griffo. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 3rd, Dr. J. Don Aderhold officiating. Burial will be in Farmville, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association. A. S. Turner & Sons
