Patricia Glass

With quiet grace and enduring love, Patricia(Pat) Ann Mize Glass passed peacefully in Summerfield, Florida just two days before her 92nd birthday, on 10/9/2025. Born on October, 11, 1933 in Clarkston, Georgia, she was the daughter of Jesse William Mize and Mattie B. Peavy Mize.

Patricia was the third of six children. She is survived by her sisters, Mary Lucas(Mize), Johnette Spikes(Mize), and brother Larry Mize. She was preceded in death by her sister Martha Walters(Mize), and brother Bill Mize, whose memories she held close throughout her life.

She is also survived by her children:

Steve Glass and his wife Debra, parents of Alex, Zack, and Drew;

Charles Glass and his wife Andrea, parents of Victoria and Jordan; and

Her seven great- grandchildren who brought her immeasurable joy in her later years.

She graduated from Clarkston High School, and attended Georgia State for accounting courses. Patricia married Horace E. Glass on August 28, 1954. She dedicated 31 years of service to Southern Bell(AT&T) in the engineering department before retiring - a testament to her work ethic and quiet strength. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers where she served as Secretary and Treasurer for many years before retiring.

After retirement, she worked at Charter Brook, and Northside Hospitals. Her last working assignment was at the Georgia World Congress Center.

She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross, volunteering at Dekalb Medical, and Emory Hospitals.

She belonged to the Skipper Square Dance Club for many years, and took up golf and bowling after retiring.

She was a member of the North Decatur United Methodist Church, in Decatur, GA, and later Oxford Methodist, in Oxford, Florida..

Pat was known for her unwavering determination to care for her family, meeting life's challenges with grace and perseverance, and her strong independent spirit. She would not let any hardships keep her down. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren very much, and found joy in life's simple pleasures.

Patricia will be missed dearly, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at Turner & Sons Funeral Home, 2773 North Decatur Rd, Decatur, GA 30033, the family will recieve friends beginning at 1:00pm.
