Paula Anne Rauschenberg

Paula Rauschenberg was a vibrant, generous person whose warmth, humor, and love of storytelling brought joy to everyone who knew her. Whether sharing memories of her life's journeys or simply spending time with those she held dear, Paula's fun-loving spirit left a lasting impression on all who were fortunate enough to cross her path.

Paula was born in Elizabethton, Tennessee, on September 10, 1938, to Lu and Paul Roberts. She attended elementary school at E. Rivers School in Atlanta and graduated high school in 1956 from Alfred I. Dupont High School in Jacksonville, Florida.

Following high school, Paula attended Florida State University, where she was a proud member of the Sigma Kappa sorority. Upon moving to Decatur, Georgia, she began a long and dedicated career as a legal secretary in the early 1960s with Smith Field Ringel Martin & Carr. She went on to serve with Long Weinberg Ansley & Wheeler from 1966 to 1999, and later with Cabaniss Conroy & McDonald from 1999 until 2001.

Faith, fellowship, and community were central to Paula's life as an active and devoted member of the First Christian Church of Atlanta in Tucker, Georgia. Her boundless curiosity and love for life sparked a lifelong passion for travel, but above all else, she treasured every moment spent with her cherished family.

Paula was preceded in death by her husband, Byron Rauschenberg, whom she married in 2004 until his passing in 2016, her brother, Ed Roberts (2023) and his wife Donna (2021).

Paula is survived by her loving sister, Susan Kennedy. She is also remembered with deep affection by her nephew, Chris Kennedy and his wife, Ashley, along with their children, Abby Shuman and Virginia Patterson; her niece, Carol McCormack and her husband, Paul, along with their children, Susan, Anne, and Cecilia; her nephew, James Roberts and his wife, Jodi, along with their children, Alyssa Gilbride, Kaelyn Roberts, and Morgan Levesque; and her niece, Angie Studstill and her husband, Travis, along with their son, Trevor. Paula also leaves behind her dear cousins, Judy Abby, Connie Schultz, and Cathy Arner, as well as many extended family members and friends who will miss her stories and warmth dearly.
