Peter French Gilyard

Mr. Peter French Gilyard, age 67 of Atlanta, died suddenly on September 13, 2012. He was the owner of Brookhaven Bobcat and a veteran of the United States Navy. Peter loved antique cars, hunting, and his greatest passions were Shag Dancing and Beach Music. He was a longtime member of the Atlanta Shag Club and the Fraternal Order of Eagles #714. He was preceded in death by brothers, Jack Taylor and Thomas Gilyard and is survived by sister, Harriet Gilyard; and daughter, Misty Shea. Uncle Pete was beloved by many nieces and nephews, Denise, Daniel, Pamela, Christopher, Cindy, Sylvia, Peter and Paul; and many great-nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held in the chapel of A. S. Turner and Sons at 5:00 PM on Friday, September 21st with a reception to follow until 7:00 PM.
