Petty Officer George Walter Carter, USN Retired, of Decatur passed away on Tuesday June 19, 2012. He is survived by his wife, Catherine Carter of Decatur; daughter, Kimberly & Chip Desormeaux of Chamblee; step-son, J. Craig & Mary B. Hall of Macon; daughter, Karen & Roy Saravia of Alexandria, VA; sisters, Mary Williams & Betty Lou Jones; brothers, Elvin Carter, Rex Carter, and Tommy Carter; grandchildren Preston Delaware, Sebastien Desormeaux, Julian Luc Desormeaux, Remy Desormeaux, Elijah Hall, Eliza Hall, Samuel Hall, Anna Saravia, and Ian Saravia. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at the Decatur Cemetery at 3:00 pm on Saturday June 23rd with Dr. Todd Speed officiating. A. S.
