Randall Davis Tyler

February 20, 1950 — December 25, 2022

On Christmas morning, December 25th, 2022, Randall Davis Tyler, loving husband of Regine Tyler, father of three, grandfather of four, passed away at age seventy-two. He is survived by his wife, Regine Tyler and daughter Sonia Tyler. Randy was born in Boulder, Colorado and raised in Los Alamitos, California. A curious and avid learner, Randy earned a master’s degree in communications at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He then joined the Peace Corps which began his adventures in Africa, hoping to teach English and help others; however, his humble nature and love for people made him feel that he received more value from the people he served, than he gave to them. This is where he began teaching and met the love of his life, Regine Tyler, whom he failed in her first English class. He later followed her to Paris, France where their daughter, Sonia was conceived. Shortly after, he accepted a job with Saudi Airlines and moved his family to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia where they lived for many years and had a son, Loik and 15 years after that another son, Jason. Randall’s job afforded him deeply discounted airline tickets which made it possible for him to travel the world with his family. Randy loved to meet new people and genuinely learn about their interests and lives. He traveled extensively in Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Middle East; he was the quintessential California boy and swam as much as possible, playing the guitar and singing, and would commonly be found upside down doing headstands. He retired in 2018 and moved to the Atlanta area to help care for his son Jason. His days were spent spending time with his family, studying college courses with his son, playing the Ukelele, quizzing his grandchildren, and generally enjoying life daily. Randy was a free-spirited, generous, and loving man that leaves memories of music, laughter, and service to all. Randy was planning on moving to the Democratic Republic of the Congo in February 2022 to start a ukelele school.
