Richard Everette Martin, Sr.

Richard Everette Martin Sr., age 76 of Decatur, passed away at 5:04 a.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2017. A native of McDowell, WV, the son of the late Robert Ellis and Ruth Elaine Martin, he was a Vietnam veteran who served as a Corpsman in the US Navy. He owned Martin's Medical Repair Service in Decatur from 1979 until his wife sold his truck in 2013. He was also predeceased by his siblings; Robert E. Martin Jr. and Patricia "Kitten" Hall. Survivors include his wife; Tracy, his daughter; Rebecca Martin, his sons; John Martin, Richard (Shane) Martin and Steven (Sarah) Martin, his grandchildren; Rachael and Cody Martin, his sister; Nancy (Larry) Lunsford, his brothers; Joseph (Betty Lou) Martin and David (Linda) Martin, and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 13th at 3:00 p.m. at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Tucker, GA. A. S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
