Robert Dennis Merritt

Robert (Bob) Dennis Merritt passed away from a heart attack on June 3rd 2023. Bob was born to Clarence and Thetis Merritt on 10/13/1951 in San Diego California. Bob is survived by his two sisters Kathy McDaniel (Lewron), Ann Jones (Tom), son Steve Merritt (Wendi). Also survived by, Hunter (Chasity), Chase, Ansley, Karliegh, Haisley, and Haiven Merritt.

Bob was born and raised in Decatur Georgia where he graduated high school as a Decatur Bulldog in 1969. Bob was a kind and loving person who always put others before himself. No matter the situation you could always count on Bob to be there for support, guidance, and a helping hand. With Bob it didn't matter about your age or race it was all about his love and caring for people which made others want to be around him.

Bob was an awesome photographer that enjoyed capturing photos of nature and the many places that he traveled throughout the world. Bob also enjoyed spending time with family and friends but most of all he had a passion for sports. Bob was an avid golf, tennis, Braves, Falcons, and Bulldogs games. He went to multiple Bulldogs fans with his friend Ace and was still in disbelieve that the DAWGS had actually won 2 National Championships in a row.

Bob's funeral service will be on Friday, June 9, 2023, at 12:30 pm. There will be a visitation from 11 am to 12 pm at A S Turner Funeral Home prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked to make donations to the American Heart Association.
