Robert Chamblin Reynolds

Robert Chamblin Reynolds (Bob) died September 4, 2026 at the age of 77. He was raised in Atlanta, Ga; by his parents John Lucius and Geraldine Lee Reynolds, and after graduating from Briarcliff High School in 1967 went on to earn a B.S. degree from Auburn University in 1971.

Bob spent the majority of his career at Georgia Power Company, and was keenly interested in data and documentation. His medical team were impressed with his expert-level proficiency with spreadsheets, which he used to track his exercise, health data and progress.

Bob was a man of many talents and interests, including his love of fast cars and great music. He started playing guitar at an early age, saving up for months from a part-time job to get his first Martin, and performing with his high school band, the Chasers. He learned banjo and mandolin as well and over the years added several classic instruments to his collection. He even wrote and recorded several original songs. Bob was also very active and loved cycling -- he rode over 100 miles a week for 40 years. He was a foundational member of the Friends of Briarlake Forest Park, where he could be seen most days walking his dog Dooley.

Bob is survived by his wife and soulmate Margo Reynolds, his brother and sister-in-law John and Sharon Reynolds, and his nieces and nephews Ryan Reynolds, Morgan Fullerton (James), Dallas Reynolds (Sarah), Clayton Jackson (Kristin), Richard Jackson (Hayley) and Victoria Margaret Jackson. He also leaves behind countless friends whose lives he touched. He will be remembered by all who knew him for his kindness, intelligence, and authenticity

A memorial service celebrating Bob's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on September 26th, 2026 at Holy Trinity Parish in Decatur, where he was a long time, faithful member. Family and friends are warmly invited to gather, remember, and celebrate a life well lived
