Ruth Keeler

Ruth Marionetta Keeler of Decatur, Georgia, passed away on March 8, 2025, surrounded by family. She was born on May 27, 1940, in Atlanta, Georgia, to parents Author Lee Stokes Sr. and Ocie Lee Stokes.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Author (Betty) Stokes Jr., Carson Stokes, Elaine (Shade) Robinson-Twitty, and Mark (Francine) Nicholson Sr. She is survived by her husband, Roderick Keeler; stepsons, Gregory Keeler and Kevin (Lavern) Keeler; and siblings: Larry (Denise) Stokes, Ronald (Juanita) Stokes, Phyllis (Marcus) Bennett, Barbara Nicholson, and Denise Nicholson. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Memorial services will be held on May 27, 2025, on what would have been her 85th birthday. The service location and time will be announced at a later date.
