Annie Ruth Wong Arnow passed away on March 6, 2023 at the age of 88. Born a southern girl from Atlanta, GA she moved to Manhattan after college and became a true New Yorker. She had a boisterous laugh and was able to have engaging conversations with everyone she met. She was loved by everyone and will be missed by all her friends and family.
After graduating from Wesleyan College in 1957 with a degree in fashion design, Ruth began her career at B. Altman's & Co., one of NYC's largest department stores. As a Vice President of Designer Apparel, she was able to travel the world and met known and upcoming fashion designers. She had her dream job. While in New York, Ruth met Lenonard Arnow and married in 1970. Both Ruth and Len retired to Atlanta to be closer to family and back to her southern roots. During retirement, Ruth still kept up with the latest fashion trends and enjoyed relaxing on Tybee Island and spending time with family.
Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Len of 42 years and her brother William 'Bill' Wong. She is survived by her close sister, Rosa Wong Joe and 7 nieces and nephews along with their spouses and children. (Edward Joe, Chris and Sue Joe, Lisa and Tommy Butler, Debra and Randy Porter, Billy and Alison Wong, Cindy and Dominic DeCrescentis, and Timothy Wong)
