Sam Kendrick Tibbs
November 13, 1923 — May 12, 2015
Sam Kendrick Tibbs, 91, of Atlanta, died May 12, 2015. Born in Atlanta, Mr. Tibbs was the son of the late Sam K. and Mattie K. Runyan Tibbs. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII and was retired from Rich's where he worked as a television repairman. Survivors include his wife, Annie V. Almond Tibbs; daughter, Patricia, and her husband Dalton Burt; sister, Frances, and her husband Leonard Fordham; two grandchildren, five great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Thursday at Resthaven Cemetery. Rev. Jerry Reeves officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Society. A. S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home, Decatur.
