Sara Eugenia Demore

Eugenia DeMore, 83, beloved sister and aunt, and a cherished friend and neighbor of many, died on Thursday, August 15, 2013 after a short yet very courageous battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by husband Donald DeMore and two siblings, Naomi Combs and Joel Combs. She is survived by a brother, William Combs and his wife Doris Combs. She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews. A native of Dalton, Genia moved to Atlanta in the early '60's. She is a 1966 Georgia State Alumni and pursued a career in the insurance industry where she was one of Georgia's first women to become a CPCU, Certified Professional Commercial Underwriter. In her life, she delighted in travels with friends to exotic and popular cities of the world. After retirement, she was a devoted and contributing member to many organizations, especially advocating for animal rights and shelters. She was an active and supporting member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church.
