Sara Mills Macdonald

Sara Mills MacDonald, 92, of Decatur, GA., formerly of Gainesville, FL and Metuchen, NJ died Tuesday, November 23, 2004 at Arbor Terrace Assisted Living in Decatur, GA.  A memorial service will be held at Clairmont Presbyterian Church, Decatur, GA on Wednesday, December 1 at 2:00 p.m.  A graveside service will be held at a later date.  Dr. Thomas M. Pipkin will be officiating.  Sara Mills MacDonald was born January 10, 1912 to Luther Ernest Mills and Lillie Etta White in Rome, GA.  The family moved to Archer, FL in 1917.  She was an elder in the First Presbyterian Church of Metuchen, NJ and Grace Presbyterian Church of Gainesville, FL.  She was a long time member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, an International Philanthropic Educational Organization and she was president of Chapter AP in Gainesville, FL, and acting president of Chapter F in Decatur, GA.  She was a volunteer to ?English in Action? at the University of Florida.  She was president of her Garden Club in Metuchen, NJ.  She was married to the late Alden F. MacDonald.  Survivors include her daughter, Margaret Heffner and son-in-law, Ted Heffner of Tucker, GA and Jane Siebert of New Jersey; one sister, Norma Mills Oliver of Birmingham, AL; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Clairmont Presbyterian Church, 1994 Clairmont Rd., Decatur, GA  30033.  A. S. Turner & Sons
