Sarah Joyce Brooks
August 10, 1929 — August 26, 2012
Sarah "Joyce" Pendergrass Brooks, age 83 of Stone Mountain, passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2012 after a courageous fight with cancer. She was born in Winder, GA and raised in Decatur, moving to Stone Mountain in the 1970's. She was a wonderful homemaker and caretaker for her family and those she loved. Everything she did was with a true zest for life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Giles Kelley Brooks and is survived by her sons, Steve (Laurie) Brooks and Tim (Gena) Brooks; daughter, Jenny Walker; 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 1st at 2:00 pm in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons. Interment will follow at Decatur Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 to 8 pm at A. S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
