Simeon Wilson Carter

Simeon "Sammy" Wilson Carter (78) died of congestive heart failure on 8/01/2013 surrounded by his loving family. Sammy lived with his wife, Beth, of 57 years in Decatur, GA. He was born in Worth County, GA on 12/21/1934 to parents, Lawrence Hill Carter and Inez Sellers Carter. He was a dedicated, devoted, and loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend. For 39 years he worked at Heaton Erecting, Inc. as an Operator/Master Mechanic where his no-nonsense, firm, honest, and fair leadership earned him the respect and loyalty of all that worked with him. Sammy could tell one heck of a story. He had an amazing memory, recollection of detail and never left anything out. Sammy, we will miss your stories, guidance, companionship, and love! Rest in peace. A graveside service will be held at Kimball United Methodist Church in Doerun, GA 31744 on Sunday, August 4 at 3:00 pm.
