Susan Margaret Smith

After a tragic accident on Clairmont Road, Susan died on April 16th at Emory University Hospital. As an organ donor, she was a miracle for several critically ill patients. The family prays for their healthy and complete recovery. The decision to be a donor was completely Susan's decision seven years ago. It was her nature to care deeply for fellow humans both known and unknown. She was a caretaker for her grandparents and all their friends.. taking them for their luncheons and doctor visits.

Susan was born at Emory University hospital on May 22, 1973. She graduated from Shamrock High School and Emory University with a degree in political science/history.

She always said when we asked why she took on "service" work instead of a better paying job with her degree.. that Emory made her a great conversationalist. So, her final job was as a deli clerk at Publix on Ponce De Leon. It was physically painful work but she enjoyed her coworkers and her customers.. and her chiropractor.

Susans service will be at a later date in Hayesville,NC. at IHM Catholic church. Rest in Peace our sweet girl.. rest in peace.
