Mrs Suzanne Riordan Mohr, age 40 of Atlanta, GA went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Saturday, May 12, 2012 after her battle with cancer. Susie was an amazing wife, daughter, sister, godmother, aunt, and treasured friend to many. She was born on August 4th, 1971 in New York, NY, spent her childhood in Long Island, NY, and later Birmingham, MI. She spent her high school years in Greenwich, CT and began her college career at the College of Notre Dame of Maryland. She moved to Atlanta in 1991 and later completed her college education at Oglethorpe University where she graduated with honors. She loved her family more than words can describe and could brighten any room with her smile and laughter. She treasured her prayer group, her Catholic faith, and reading the bible. She loved to spend time with her friends and enjoyed drawing, painting, journaling, and writing poetry. She took on her loved ones' burdens as her own and would do anything in her power to help them. She loved her three godchildren and nine nieces and nephews as if they were her own. Aunt Cookie will be terribly missed but never forgotten. She is preceded in death by her son, Joseph Todd; grandparents Nora and Cornelius Riordan and Mary and Joseph O'Dea; aunt Delores O'Dea; and her aunt Clare Grothe. She is survived by her husband, Shane Mohr; parents, Dan and Eileen Riordan; brother and sister-in-law Damian and Susan Riordan, sister and brother-in-law Jennifer and Marc St Amand; sister and brother-in-law Elizabeth and Russell Jackson; godchildren, Colin St Amand, Nora Riordan, and Fiona Gibb; nieces and nephews Liam and Madeline Riordan, Marielle, Tara, Andrew, and Katherine St Amand, and Joshua Jackson; numerous aunts and uncles; and 28 first cousins. The family will receive friends Friday from 1-3 PM and 6-8 PM at AS Turner and Sons in Decatur. A vigil service will be held at the funeral home at 7:30 PM. Her funeral service will be at 10 AM Saturday at St Thomas More Catholic Church in Decatur. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org or by mail at P.O. Box 56566, Atlanta, GA 30343.
