Theron Arnold of Cumming, GA, formerly of Tucker, passed from this life on Saturday, April 30. He is preceded in death by his parents, Rolan and Ottice Arnold, sister, Geneva Arnold Ross and one nephew. He is survived by his wife, Dale Blackwell Arnold, daughter, Jennifer Arnold, son, Jeff Arnold, four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and two nephews. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, May 5 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel at A.S. Turner Funeral Home, Decatur, GA, with family visitation at 1:00 p.m.
Theron was born and raised in Tucker and attended Tucker High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in marketing and finance from Georgia State University. He proudly served four years in the U.S. Navy where he enjoyed experiencing new worlds.
This beautiful man was born to a family of pure, unconditional love. He and his dad had a precious bond. Theron shared stories all his life about the special times they had together. After his father’s passing, Theron lovingly took care of his mother the way his dad would have cherished.
Theron was so proud of Jeff and Jenner-bug, as she was often called, from the time they were born until this day. He often spoke of how intelligent Jennifer is as she also is well-read like her dad, and how proud he was of Jeff who followed in his footsteps as a successful contractor. Theron often laughed and was amazed at how the two of them could charm anyone.
Theron was an athlete in all sports in high school and remained so as an adult, as he played basketball with church leagues, racquetball, running, fitness and skiing. He was always moving, never sat still.
To all who knew Theron, they will remember him to almost always be smiling or laughing - that he was intelligent, well-read and above all, loved his wife.
It was obvious being around Theron and Dale the special love they shared. Theron was an amazing husband to Dale and loved her deeply. To her, there could never be a more perfect husband with such pure, unwavering love. They were together until the very end when his Savior said “it’s time to come home, my son”.
This world will never be the same without Theron Arnold in it. But we as believers know he has now been joined with his God and his proud mother and dad. As his dear friend, Preston said so beautifully, “Rest in Peace, my Brother”.
