Thomas W. Chandler

Mr. Thomas W. Chandler of Birmingham, AL, formerly of Decatur, died Monday, August 29, 2005. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U. S. Army Signal Corps. He was a member of Avondale First Baptist Church and retired from General Motors - Lakewood. Mr. Chandler was preceded in death by his wife, Eva W. Chandler. He is survived by his sister, Ruth Payne of Atlanta; step-son, Horace Ireland and his wife Sue of Birmingham; grandsons, Trey Ireland and wife Margaret, Glen Ireland and wife, Lynn, David Ireland and wife Michelle; and five great grandchildren, Jennifer, John, William, Jonathan and Katie. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3rd , Rev. Clay Bowden officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12 Noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at A. S. Turner & Sons
