Timothy "Tim" Patrick Hoffman, 50, passed away on May 20, 2026, in Atlanta, Georgia. Born on December 2, 1975, in Buffalo, New York, during a December snowstorm, Tim entered the world as the youngest of three boys born to Patricia N. Erker and John F. Hoffman, both of whom preceded him in death.
After his family relocated to Florida, Tim developed a lifelong love of the ocean. His childhood was filled with swimming, bike rides, GI Joe battles, furniture rattling WWE wrestling matches with his brothers in the living room, Buffalo Bills fandom, and the occasional secretly glued-together broken family heirloom hidden from his mother.
Tim was a devoted altar server throughout his youth and remained deeply connected to his Catholic faith. Parishioners at Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Clearwater, Florida often requested him personally to assist with baptisms, weddings, and funerals because of his warmth and steady presence. He attended Catholic middle and high school, where he played golf, a sport he continued to love throughout his life.
Following in the footsteps of his father and uncle, Tim attended Canisius College in Buffalo. During college, he joined ROTC and the rugby team. He loved the grit, camaraderie, and spirit of rugby so much that he convinced the Florida State University club rugby team he was an FSU student while living in Tallahassee with Amy during her law school years.
Tim built friendships that transcended miles and loved his friends openly and deeply. He rarely ended a call without saying "Love you, brother". His loyalty and affection for the people he cared about were among his most defining qualities.
Professionally, Tim carved his own path in sales despite coming from a family of educators. He worked for Enterprise for twenty years before transitioning into medical sales, a career perfectly suited to his gift for conversation and connection. Tim never met a stranger. He remembered details about people's lives with remarkable ease and genuinely cared about those he encountered. He was known for his tireless work ethic and willingness to stay up late or rise early to get things done.
At age 21, Tim met Amy. They married three years later and spent twelve years building careers and traveling the world before welcoming Tim's self-proclaimed greatest accomplishment, his twin daughters, Colette and Emily.
Tim was overjoyed to learn he was having girls and memorably told the sonographer he was relieved because he would never have to learn the rules of baseball or pretend to enjoy it. Above all else, Tim was a devoted father. His love for Colette and Emily was absolute, unwavering, and evident in every aspect of his life. He was endlessly proud and cherished every moment with them.
Tim is survived by his wife, Amy; daughters, Colette and Emily; brothers John C. Hoffman (Jennifer) and Vincent C. Hoffman; nieces Sophia and Morgan Hoffman; and nephews Colton Hoffman, Tyler Pearson, Conner Ezzell, and Kai and Konrad Dobey.
Those who knew Tim will remember his booming laugh, endless storytelling of mostly true stories, humor, resilience, and his love for family, friends, and the Buffalo Bills.
Tim leaves behind a legacy of love and friendship, and will be dearly missed.
