MOSELEY, Walter Grant, Jr.
Walter Grant Moseley, Jr., 70, of Atlanta, passed away on December 22, 2022. He was born in Union, SC to Janet and Walter Grant Moseley, Sr. He attended Lakeside High School in Dekalb where he met his future wife Rhonda Moseley (Rooks). Grant served in the U.S. Navy Reserve and graduated from Georgia Tech with a Bachelor of Architecture. He served as Founding Principal, President and CEO of MSTSD, Inc. for 31 years; designing buildings in 26 states, including the Atlanta Cyclorama, Atlanta History Center renovation, Southern Company headquarters, and Discover Mills Mall.
A selfless and loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend, Grant enjoyed horseback riding on Georgia mountain trails, hunting and fishing, reading and discussing the nuances of Civil War and World War II history, and spending time with friends and family, especially his wife Rhonda.
Grant is survived by his wife of 46 years, Rhonda; sisters Kimeran (Ken) Brewer, Denise (Bob) Herman, Lucia (David) Perry, and Janet (Mike) Brooks; brother-in-law Randall (Sheila) Rooks; sons Kurt and Eric; daughter-in-law Heather Kling; and 15 nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Ronald Grant.
A visitation will take place at A.S. Turner and Sons in Decatur on Thursday, January 5 from 4-8pm. A celebration of Grant’s life will be held at Briarlake Baptist Church in Decatur on Friday, January 6 at 10am, followed by a burial service at the Moseley family cemetery in Stockbridge. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Grant’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association or the National Alliance on Mental Illness
