William Joel "Will/Bill" Keith, 56, passed away on September 17, 2025, in Atlanta, Georgia. Born on January 2, 1969, in Springfield, Vermont, Will lived a life marked by compassion, perseverance, and a deep commitment to caring for loved ones and strangers alike.
Raised as a Christian in the church, Will's faith remained a guiding force throughout his life. Though his faith evolved over time, his belief in treating others with kindness and respect never wavered. This foundation shaped not only his personal relationships but also his professional calling.
Will's early years were filled with exploration and adventure. He competed in BMX bike racing as a teenager and embraced the snowy winters of Vermont through snowboarding. His love for cycling continued into adulthood, as he raced mountain bikes and participated in street cycling competitions while living in Colorado and later in Georgia. Music was another passion; he played bass in a band and found joy in creative expression (like in his many colorful tattoos).
Professionally, Will spent many years working in customer service roles, from food service to bicycle sales, but it wasn't until later that he was able to realize his true passion: nursing. Will pursued a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), achieving this long-pursued, prized goal after years of dedication and hard work. Passing the nursing board exam and becoming a registered nurse was a great source of pride for Will, and it marked a turning point in his life. Nursing brought him profound satisfaction and purpose; it allowed him to live out his values daily through compassionate care and unwavering support for those in need.
Will was deeply loved by those around him. He is survived by his wife Jessica; his stepdaughter Talia; his sister Molly; and his mother Johanna, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, William Keith, who passed away in 2017.
To all who knew him, whether as a nurse, musician, cyclist, family member or friend, Will brought joy, humor, and an open heart. His legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched with kindness and grace.
May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him. A Memorial Service will be held on September 23, 2025, from 06:00 PM to 08:30 PM at A. S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home, 2773 North Decatur Rd., Decatur, GA. Receiving will be from 6pm-7pm, followed by the Memorial Service.
